(thanks ryuik)

Don't know why
I'm surviving every lonely day
When there's got to be
no chance for me
My life would end

And it doesn't matter how I cry
My tears of love
a waste of time
if I turn away
Am I strong enough to
see it through?
Go crazy is what I will do

If I can't have you
I don't want nobody, baby
If I can't have you,

Japanese works of art from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I had not recalled, until I ran across this video, that when I would take breaks from school, I would go to the Institute and spend a good hour just sitting by this Buddha sculpture, I should find out when the free day is this week and go enjoy the Asian art soon. I was able to visit with some monks from the monastery of the Dali Llama a decade and a half ago, as part of my work in another museum, the monks made a sand mandala painting that was then destroyed later. I remember they were all very chatty, and wore Swatch watches.

Your result for The Elemental Beauty Test...

Fearless Beauty

50% Air, 17% Water, 25% Earth, and 8% Fire!

You scored 50% Air! Outrageous!

The Air element says that you have a fearless beauty. Air relies on intellect, logic, and knowledge. They don't care much about trends, they care about what works for them.

With an air beauty is done with their own quirky and offbeat style that suits their inner personality. You have a great sense of humor and if you love something that others will see as zany you'll wear it just to prove that you have what it takes to pull it off.

You inner beauty is the type that is forever in search of knowledge. You can go from the corner grocery store to learning meditation techniques from the top of the Himalayan Mountains in Tibet.

Zodiac air signs include Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.

You also scored:

25% Earth: Earth is the natural beauty. They tend to stick to classic styles and colors. They tend to be more grounded. 0% Earth may indicate that plain old common sense is not your strong suit. A person with equal percentage in Earth and Air indicate a person that both thinks and uses good common sense.

17% Water: Water is the etheral beauty. They like things that drape and shimmer. The love vintage and heirlooms; things with emotional ties and history. 0% Water may mean that you don't trust or use your intuition. A person with highest even percentage in Water and Air indicates a person that is a dreamer and fantasy-prone.

8% Fire: Fire is the alluring beauty. They like to wear bright colors and show some skin. They are sexually minded and spicy. They use a lot of charm to get what they want. 0% Fire can often be seen in someone that pushes and tries to force self-expression. A person with equal Fire and Air indicates a person that may be a bit scattered but someone who has a lot of enthusiasm and has a lot of ideas.

And yep, a Whopper with 7 beef patties, beef is expensive in Japan, so it's quite the deal, if you can stomach it!

Sarah and her death panels - again.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Sarah Palin is returning to the two words widely credited with helping to spur angry town-halls on health care reform over the summer: "death panels."

In a Facebook post over the weekend, the former Alaska governor launched into a torrent of criticism about the recently-passed House health care reform bill, including the notion "bureaucratic panels" will ultimately decide who lives and who dies.

In her recent Facebook post, Palin didn't offer further evidence of the establishment of death panels. The non-partisan FactCheck.org has refuted her argument.

"The fact remains that the bill wouldn't require patients to receive counseling sessions, nor would it require a doctor to offer one. Rather, it modifies Section 1861(s)2 of the Social Security Act, defining what services Medicare will pay for. So if a patient receives a counseling session from a doctor or health care practitioner, he or she doesn't have to pay for it – Medicare will," the organization wrote.

The Great Leap Backward

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
The House approved a health care bill Saturday night that prohibits abortion coverage in a government-run plan, and in private plans that accept anyone using government subsidies to buy insurance coverage. People would be permitted to by supplemental coverage with their own money that includes covers abortions.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-California, a leading abortion rights voice in the Senate, told CNN Monday that approach was "radical" and "unfair to women," and said she will meet with a group of female senators Tuesday to start looking for a way to limit abortion restrictions in the Senate health care bill.

"We want to make sure we don't deny women the opportunity to avail themselves of a totally legal procedure," Boxer told CNN in a phone interview. "We believe this is unfair to women, it singles them out as a group. There is no other procedure in this bill that is denied."

With Boxer's Democratic colleague from Nebraska, Ben Nelson, just as adamantly opposed to a health care bill without strict abortion prohibitions, it appears the Democratic abortion divide in the Senate is threatening to derail its health bill - just as it almost did in the House.
